[Well into Spring, really. There's a little rustle of fabric as Yuca shifts where he's sitting.]

I wonder if I should start a garden again. Rain isn't here to help me though- and last time, it went badly.

[Yuca is quiet, contemplating this.]

At the very least, it could provide us with food. Mother, what do you think?

I think a garden is a great idea, Ys. [You can see the wheels turning: it will draw people in for food, it will give Ys something to do, it will let Sharem be in charge of something.]
